About love life.
Falling in love is great. We’ve all been there. Looking up to the other. The wow factor. Reachable or not. She’s the one. Wow. She fulfills life. She the perfect match. We look up to serain behavior, looks, …
But it often doesn’t last. After a while it turns out not to be this wow. Not the be this perfect match.
This is the thing. When we fall in love, we fall in love w certain aspects, qualities of this other person. Often qualities that can’t yet live inside ourselves, but we look up at in the other. Sometimes it’s the social environment we look up at in the other, style, education, job, popularity, you name it… Qualities we would love be have ourselves but we fear today or we’re not strong enough to develop them ourselves yet. So when we fall desperately in love we can learn something about ourselves. If we can find the aspect at we we look up at in the other, we can understand the aspirations that live in ourselves to live a better life.
I’ve found finally my true love not true being in absolute love. But by the feeling that we we’re a good match. We’re best buddies. Not so romantic maybe ( and she doesn’t like that story) but after 3 years I’m sure now she’s the one. My best friend. After many relationships loosing myself in being in love I’ve found unconditional love this time. All ladies rock. I love them all. But Liesbeth is my girl for ever. Easy and honest.
For what it’s worth, do fall in love where you can. It’s nice to let go. As I said, we’ve all been there and I’m 34 by now.
Live La vida loca!

LOVE:
My parents got married twenty years ago.
they met in college, UCLA, and then my dad switched to Berkley. but they would drive for hours to see each other on the weekends and would meet half way to have dinner.
they went on a road trip together in a tiny car around europe.
my dad says it was love at first sight.
On their wedding day, it rained, poured. and instead of a beautiful garden wedding they had the entire reception inside a church. they say it was lucky.
that was almost twenty one years ago.
and now there’s me and my brother, im 16 he’s 18 and were the healthiest family i know.
my parents still go on dates and dance to U2 in the kitchen.
i hope im half as happy as them someday.
i dont know what love is, i’ve neverexperienced it, but i’ve seen it. and as far as i can tell, it can last forever.
xoxo,
Alimae
